# PostHog

Mark every release on your product charts, and use PostHog errors for release health. Open the **PostHog** card on the Integrations page to connect.

## Release annotations

```bash
bumpkit integrations connect posthog --project 12345 --host eu --api-key -
```

| Flag | Value |
|------|-------|
| `--api-key` | A PostHog personal API key (`phx_…`) |
| `--project` | The project ID, the number in your PostHog project's URL |
| `--host` | `us`, `eu`, or your PostHog instance's `https` address |

PostHog is used two ways:

- Every release recorded by `POST /v1/analyze` becomes a PostHog annotation, so you can see releases on your charts. The key needs the `annotation:write` scope.
- As an error source for [release health](/docs/release-health#posthog): Bumpkit polls `$exception` events. The key needs the `query:read` scope, and you pick the repository on the Incidents page.

The `integrations_connect` and `integrations_test` MCP tools do the same.
